This role is ideal for a mid-level professional with hands-on experience in customs processes, tariff classification, and trade documentation. The position will work closely with internal teams and external brokers to facilitate efficient and compliant cross-border trade activities.ResponsibilitiesClassify products using the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) to ensure accurate duty assessment and compliance with U.S. Customs regulationsPrepare, review, and maintain trade documentation, including USMCA certificates and other free trade agreement (FTA) certificationsSupport the creation, validation, and issuance of certificates of originReview customs entries submitted by brokers for accuracy and complianceRespond to broker requests for information (RFIs) in a timely and accurate manner, including product details, classification support, and valuation dataPartner with internal stakeholders (sourcing, logistics, compliance) to gather necessary information for customs filingsMaintain records in accordance with U.S. Customs recordkeeping requirementsAssist in identifying and resolving customs-related issues, discrepancies, or delaysStay current on changes in customs regulations, trade agreements, and compliance requirementsQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, International Business, Logistics, or related field (or equivalent experience)3+ years of experience in customs compliance, international trade, or import/export operationsStrong working knowledge of HTS classification and U.S. Customs regulationsExperience with USMCA and other Free Trade Agreements (FTAs), including certificate preparationFamiliarity with customs entry processes and documentation requirementsExperience working with customs brokers and responding to RFIsHigh attention to detail and strong analytical skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel preferred); experience with trade compliance systems is a plusPreferred QualificationsExperience in a manufacturing or consumer goods environmentExposure to global trade operations beyond the U.S.Knowledge of duty optimization strategies and trade compliance best practicesAdditional InformationThis is not an entry-level role, but does not require a licensed customs broker designationIdeal candidates are hands-on, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, cross-functional environmentAbout UsYou know our brands.
