Description:Since 2004, Elite Marine Air Conditioning has deployed our experienced personnel to super yachts and sport fishing vessels located anywhere in the world. We’ve worked on everything from new installations and minor repairs to annual maintenance and complete refits. In short, our deep marine expertise ensures your equipment runs well long after you’ve left the dock. The HVAC Service Technician/Installer will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and service repairs on heating, ventilating, air conditioning systems, and marine water maker units. This position will also be responsible for the installation of new units or replacement parts for existing units according to specifications and established safety guidelines.If you would like to know a bit more about this opportunity, or are considering applying, then please read the following job information.Job ResponsibilitiesPerform troubleshooting, diagnosis, service, and repair of marine air conditioning and refrigeration systemsTroubleshoot and repair electrical circuits for faults and open circuitsPerform routine soldering/brazing of copper joints and dissimilar metalsTest pipe or tubing joints or connections for leaks, using pressure gauge or soap-and-water solutionJoin pipes or tubing to equipment and/or water or refrigerant source, to form a complete circuitReassemble and test equipment following repairsRepair or replace defective equipment, components, or wiringLayout and connect electrical wiring between controls and equipment, according to wiring diagrams, using electrician’s hand toolsComply with all applicable standards, policies, and procedures, including safety procedures and the maintenance of a clean work areaInspect and test systems to verify system compliance with plans and specifications or to detect and locate malfunctionsPerform other related duties as requiredRequirements:2+ years’ experience in residential or commercial HVAC servicing and installation; marine HVAC and water maker reverse osmosis experience preferredPossess a valid Florida driver’s license with an acceptable driving recordUnderstanding of basic hand tool usage, including meters, gauges, drills, and saws etc.Availability for overtime and/or weekend workMust be comfortable traveling throughout Palm Beach County, FLAbility to solve problems and troubleshootCapacity to work in a team environment and independentlyGood oral and written communication skillsStrong attention to detailMust be able to lift and bend frequently; must be able to routinely lift and move up to 50 lbs. without assistant; capable of working in indoor and outdoor settings; exposure to hot and humid environments; comfortable in confided spaces aboard marine vessels at timesRequired EducationMinimum High school diploma, HVAC accredited schooling completion required.EPA certification or the ability to obtain one – timeframe based on specific job dutiesPre – Employment ConditionsBackground Check, Drug Screening & MVR ScreeningWork Environment & ScheduleOn-site - Fort Lauderdale, FLThis is an hourly – in the field position| Monday–Friday | 7:30 AM–5:00 PMWeekends as neededAbility to travel domestically and internationally, is a plusCompensation & BenefitsCompetitive hourly rate with supplemental pay for OvertimeMonthly Profit Sharing – an opportunity to share in the success and growth of the companyMedical, Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance – company pays 100% of employee-only premiums401(k) with company matchPaid Holidays and PTOPhysical Demands and Work Environment:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
