Our team is driven by excellence, integrity, and a passion for advancing aerospace technology.Take the next step in your career with a company committed to excellence, where your contributions are recognized, and your potential is realized.Summary: The Senior Quality Inspector - Soft Goods & Composites is responsible for ensuring all textile-based and composite-backed aerospace assemblies meet engineering, customer, and regulatory requirements from in-process through final release.This role owns inspection and quality enforcement for soft goods including thermal insulation blankets, sewn assemblies, thermal barriers, protective covers, and composite-backed fabric systems. The position ensures product integrity through detailed verification of workmanship, dimensional accuracy, material traceability, and full compliance to drawings, specifications, and customer flow-downs.You will operate as a senior quality presence embedded on the production floor, working alongside manufacturing and quality engineering to drive issue resolution, enforce standards, and prevent escapes.Key ResponsibilitiesExecute in-process and final inspections for aerospace soft goods and composite-backed textile assembliesVerify compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and customer flow-down requirementsGenerate and process Nonconformance Reports (NCRs) and support MRB activities and dispositionsPartner with Quality Engineering on root cause analysis, corrective actions, and containmentDrive preventive actions to reduce repeat defects and reworkReview travelers, inspection plans, and quality documentation for accuracy and completenessSupport internal and external audits and ensure compliance to AS9100 requirementsMaintain accurate inspection records and full product traceability within ERP/QMS systemsAct as the quality authority on the floor, reinforcing standards and holding production accountableInspect and validate:Stitching quality and seam integrityEdge finishing and fabric handlingHardware installation and bondingLabeling and configuration accuracyConfirm dimensional requirements, material types, thread specifications, and special process complianceIdentify and document defects including:Fabric damage or contaminationForeign object debris (FOD)Improper assembly or workmanship issuesCosmetic and structural nonconformitiesRequired QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredDirect experience inspecting or building aerospace soft goods, sewn assemblies, insulation blankets, or technical textile productsStrong understanding of textile workmanship criteria for aerospace applicationsAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings, revisions, tolerances, and specification requirementsWorking knowledge of NCR processes, MRB workflows, and corrective action practicesAbility to support root cause analysis and collaborate with engineering and production teamsExperience entering and maintaining records in ERP/QMS systemsAbility to lift up to 50 lbs and stand or walk for extended periodsPreferred QualificationsExperience in aerospace, defense, or space manufacturing environmentsFamiliarity with AS9100 or ISO 9001 quality management systemsExperience reviewing special process documentation, certifications, and configuration control recordsFamiliarity with JobBOSS or Epicor ERP systemsExperience supporting internal or external auditsExposure to FOD prevention practices in textile assembly environmentsAdditional RequirementsWillingness to work overtime or weekends to meet critical deadlinesAbility to use computers and inspection software to complete assignmentsAbility to communicate effectively with individuals and teams in person and electronicallyCommitment to maintaining safety and cleanliness within the inspection environmentYour actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.Total compensation will also include a comprehensive set of benefits including but not limited to: Company paid employee medical, dental and vision insurance.
