Director of Sales

My client, a privately held, high-growth wellness company, is seeking a Director of Sales to lead expansion across key retail channels and play a critical role in accelerating the next phase of growth.Responsibilities include:Drive new business development and expand distribution across Food, Drug, and Mass channelsOwn key customer relationships (including regional grocery, natural, and mass accounts) and deliver against revenue growth targetsDevelop and execute sales strategies, assortment plans, and customer-specific selling storiesBuild compelling presentations using syndicated data (e.g., SPINS, eCommerce analytics) to influence buyersPartner cross-functionally with marketing, category management, and leadership to align on growth prioritiesManage broker relationships effectively while maintaining ownership of strategy and executionIdentify white space opportunities and lead expansion into new accounts and geographiesTravel regularly to meet with customers and drive in-market executionIdeal candidate will have:Proven success in CPG sales with a track record of opening new accounts and growing distributionExperience across Food, Drug, Mass, and/or Natural channels (supplements or wellness category a plus)Strong builder mindset with the ability to operate independently in a lean environmentDemonstrated ability to leverage data and insights to create persuasive customer presentationsExperience managing brokers while maintaining full accountability for business resultsHigh energy, self-starter mentality with a proactive, results-driven approachWillingness to travel and be customer-facing; ideally based in the Southeast or open to regional travelBrainWorks, a Top 50 Hunt Scanlon executive search firm, has been delivering superior talent for over three decades to drive business performance.
