Founding Account Executive
We're partnered with a well-funded AI company (~$200M raised, $1B+ valuation) building mechanistic interpretability tools for the foundation models that are increasingly underpinning biology - protein design, genomics, biomarker discovery, drug development. Their platform lets scientists look inside foundation models and understand what they're actually learning, rather than treating them as black boxes.
Life sciences is their flagship vertical. They're already working with major research institutions, leading techbio companies, and a household-name pharmaceutical organisation, with average deal sizes north of $1M. They closed a Series B about a month ago and are now hiring their first dedicated commercial hire in the vertical.
The Role
This is a true founding seat. You'd be the first AE on the ground in life sciences, working directly with the COO and CEO to build the playbook from scratch. You'd own the full sales cycle - identifying and engaging computational biology leads, AI/ML heads, and CTOs at pharma R&D and techbio organisations, running technical evaluations alongside the research team, and closing six and seven figure enterprise deals.
The buyer is sophisticated. You'll be sitting across from PhD-level computational biologists, ML researchers, and senior R&D leadership at some of the most scientifically advanced companies in the world. You need to be able to hold your own in those rooms, translate the platform's value into the specific scientific problems they're trying to solve, and earn trust through substance rather than pitch.
What We're Looking For
4-10 years closing enterprise software deals, ideally with at least 2-3 years selling into life sciences R&D, pharma, biotech, or computational biology buyers
Track record of consistently hitting and exceeding quota in a hunter role
Genuine comfort with technical and scientific subject matter you don't need a PhD, but you need to be able to learn fast and engage with deep technical buyers as a credible peer
Experience closing $250K+ ARR deals into pharma R&D, computational biology, or genomics teams
Strong written and verbal communication, including the ability to write tight, technically literate emails and run a structured discovery conversation
Founding mentality comfortable with ambiguity, building process from scratch, and operating without a polished playbook or marketing engine behind you
Nice to Have
Background in biology, chemistry, computational science, or a related scientific field
Existing relationships at pharma R&D, techbio, or major academic research institutions
Experience selling AI, ML, or data infrastructure into technical buyers
