Equipment Manager - Trucking CompanyWe are seeking an experienced Equipment Manager to join our midwest-based logistics company. The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive background in managing and maintaining semi-trailer equipment, with a focus on efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and innovation.Key Responsibilities:Track and manage company assets, including semi-trailers and related equipmentOversee semi-trailer equipment repairs and maintenanceImplement and manage a system for charging damage costs back to customersDevelop and manage routine maintenance plans for all equipmentCoordinate and oversee annual DOT inspectionsHandle equipment claims, particularly those related to damage in auto manufacturing plantsManage carrier interchange and trailer hand-off processesInnovate and implement new strategies for trailer inspection and damage documentation during drop and hook operationsQualifications:Proven experience in equipment management within the trucking industryStrong knowledge of semi-trailer maintenance and repair processesExperience with asset tracking systems and inventory managementFamiliarity with DOT regulations and inspection requirementsUnderstanding of equipment claim processes, especially in auto manufacturing settingsKnowledge of carrier interchange agreements and proceduresDemonstrated ability to develop and manage maintenance schedulesStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication and leadership abilitiesThe successful candidate will bring fresh ideas to improve our trailer inspection processes and damage documentation methods, enhancing efficiency and reducing costs.If you have the skills and experience we're looking for and are ready to take on a challenging role in a fast-paced environment, we want to hear from you.To apply, please submit your resume and a cover letter detailing your relevant experience and innovative ideas for equipment management.
