Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for a strong understanding of food safety standards. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a dynamic kitchen environment, supporting meal service and ensuring high-quality food presentation. Previous experience in dietary departments, catering, or restaurant settings is highly valued, along with excellent knife skills and culinary knowledge. Responsibilities Prepare ingredients and components for menu items according to standardized recipes and specifications Assist in menu planning and portion control to ensure consistency and quality Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace in compliance with food safety regulations Handle food safely during preparation, storage, and transportation Assist with plating and presentation of dishes for service Support catering events and special functions as needed Follow all health department guidelines and company policies related to food handling and safety Requirements Prior experience in food industry roles such as dietary aide, culinary assistant, or restaurant prep cook preferred Knowledge of food safety standards and proper handling procedures Strong knife skills and proficiency in basic cooking techniques Experience with menu planning, meal preparation, and food presentation Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail Excellent organizational skills with the ability to follow recipes accurately Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends or holidays if required Culinary experience or background in catering is a plus but not mandatory Job Type: Full-time Pay: $12.00 per hour Expected hours: 25.0 – 40.0 per week Benefits: Employee discount Flexible schedule Paid training Education: High school or equivalent (Preferred) Language: English/Spanish (Preferred) Shift availability: Day Shift (Required) Ability to Commute: Williamston, NC 27892 (Required) Work Location: In person
