We are currently seeking a Logistics Optimization Specialist for a client in the automotive industry, specializing in car manufacturing. This is a contractor role, based Charleston, SC that requires onsite presence. If you’re eager to grow your career and make a meaningful impact on exciting projects, we look forward to your applicationPURPOSE: This role requires an experienced Logistics Optimization professional with a strong background in analyzing and improving supply chain and material flow processes. The specialist is responsible for identifying inefficiencies, reducing costs, stabilizing workflows, and enhancing operational performance, particularly through optimized utilization of Logistics Service Providers (LSPs).RESPONSIBILITIES:Evaluate current logistics processes to identify inefficiencies and cost-saving opportunities across the supply chainMonitoring material and product flows from suppliers through internal operations to detect bottlenecks and areas for improvementAnalyze process data and collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, assess, and implement optimized logistics conceptsDevelop and execute improvement projects targeting reduced processing time, stabilized workflows, and optimized manpower utilizationDrive efficiency initiatives and continuously improve LSP utilization and operational performanceDocument and report measurable improvements and project outcomesQUALIFICATIONS:BS/BA in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a related fieldAdditional certifications in process optimization, Lean, or project management advantageousREQUIRED SKILLS:MTM Blue Card Certification (mandatory for time studies within LSP contracts)5–10 years of experience in logistics process analysis, optimization, or operations managementStrong analytical skills with experience in cost reduction and process evaluationProven ability to independently manage improvement projects and deliver measurable resultsEffective communication and collaboration skills for cross-departmental coordinationExperience working with Logistics Service Providers (LSPs) and production/inbound material flowsPREFERED SKILLSKnowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologiesExperience in production or manufacturing logistics environmentsFamiliarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and data visualization toolsProject management or operational excellence certificationPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Work is normally performed in an office, laboratory, manufacturing floor, or machine shop setting where physical work includes, but is not limited to sitting, standing, reaching, kneeling, bending, and lifting up to 25 lbsMust be able to understand and comply with all relevant safety practicesFLSA STATUS/WORKING SCHEDULE:Location: Charleston, SC Type: Full time, 150-day contract with the option to extendOvertime: as requiredAssignment Start: ASAP DISCLAIMER:This job description is a high-level overview of general expectations of this position.
