Staff Software Engineer – AI + Cybersecurity - Fully Remote (USA)The Oho group are working with a fast-growing, venture-backed cybersecurity technology startup looking for a staff software engineer to join their growing team. Working at the forefront of AI and Cybersecurity you will drive innovation in fast APIs whilst setting technical direction and leading teams. What you will be doingLead architectural design and define technical specifications for scalable, high-performance systemsDesign and develop robust services and APIs for an enterprise-grade platformOwn end-to-end delivery from development and testing through to deployment and maintenanceConduct code reviews to ensure quality, consistency, and best practicesMentor and support senior engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative culturePartner closely with product and cross-functional teams to translate requirements into production-ready solutionsWhat you need8+ years of software engineering experience, including leadership on large-scale distributed systemsStrong programming expertise in at least one modern language (e.g. Python, Java, or Go)Hands-on experience building Python-based services (FastAPI or Flask), with solid testing practices (Pytest)Proven experience designing and operating REST APIs at scaleDeep understanding of both relational and non-relational databases, including schema design and migrationsStrong knowledge of software architecture, design patterns, and engineering best practicesExperience with AWS services (e.g. Lambda, SQS, ECS, EKS) and containerised environmentsTrack record of leading projects and delivering against deadlinesExcellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across teamsExposure to LLMs and modern AI patterns (e.g. RAG, agents, tools) is a plusWhat’s in it for you?Competitive salary plus equityComprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverageUnlimited paid time off401(k) with company matchMonthly stipend for home internet and mobile expensesIf you want a new role which promises responsibility and huge career growth, apply now as interviews are already being scheduled!
