ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Prepares and cooks a variety of ingredients and menu items using a variety of kitchen equipment and techniques. Properly store all products with correct labels and dates using the FIFO system when products are put away. Stores products in the walk-in using proper health code protocol, i.e.. chicken beneath all other products, fresh vegetables at the top, etc. Quality checks all dishes before leaving the station. Stocks and maintains sufficient level of inventory needed for a smooth service. Counts and monitors inventory levels at your station. Communicates to Sous Chef or Executive Chef when products are running low. Communicates with entire kitchen team to ensure proper timing and execution of dishes. Opens and closes stations properly, including following a prep list, uses proper cleaning standards, and assists others when needed. Follows proper plating techniques and uses the correct garnishes. Uses proper prep and portioning methods. Complies with uniform standards. Follows proper safety and health code procedures. You may be called upon from time to time to perform other duties that may not be included in your job description at the management’s discretion .
