ASO / Rx Underwriter (Contract)Location: Remote / Hybrid (U.S.-based)Duration: 6-month contractSchedule: Full-time (aligned to PST hours, some flexibility)About the OpportunityWe're partnering with a large, established health plan organization supporting continued growth in their self-funded (ASO) employer business. Due to recent team changes and increased demand, they are seeking an experienced ASO/Rx Underwriter to provide immediate support across new business and renewals.This is a great opportunity to work within a fast-paced underwriting environment, with a strong emphasis on pharmacy (Rx) pricing strategy and financial modeling.What You'll DoUnderwrite self-funded (ASO) employer groups, with a focus on pharmacy benefit (Rx) financialsAnalyze claims experience, utilization, demographics, and trend assumptionsDevelop and maintain pricing models (primarily in Excel)Build and evaluate Rx pricing components, including:Administrative feesDiscountsRebatesPBM cost structuresSupport new business and renewal pricing, including rate exhibits and underwriting summariesPartner with Sales, Account Management, Actuarial, and Pharmacy teams on pricing strategyContribute to RFP/RFI responses requiring underwriting inputDocument assumptions, pricing rationale, and recommendations in alignment with internal guidelinesAssist with portfolio analysis, performance monitoring, and ad hoc financial requestsWhat We're Looking For3–6+ years of underwriting experience within a health plan, TPA, or PBM environmentDirect experience underwriting ASO / self-funded employer groupsStrong understanding of pharmacy benefit pricing and PBM financial structuresAdvanced Excel skills (pricing models, pivot tables, scenario analysis)Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, sales-driven environmentStrong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skillsBachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Business, or related fieldPreferred ExperienceExperience working closely with Pharmacy or PBM teamsKnowledge of Rx cost drivers, including specialty pharmacy and rebate structuresExposure to stop-loss considerations and collaboration with actuarial partnersExperience supporting large or national employer accountsFamiliarity with underwriting systems or pricing platforms within a health planWhy This RoleOpportunity to support a high-impact underwriting team during a critical periodExposure to complex Rx pricing strategies and ASO businessCollaborative, cross-functional environmentPotential for future opportunities based on performance
