Part-Time Physical Therapist Assistant

Job Summary Responsible for delivering high-quality patient care under the direct supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist, in accordance with the State Practice Act. The PTA assists in implementing individualized treatment programs designed by the supervising Physical Therapist to help patients achieve their rehabilitation goals. Essential Functions and Responsibilities:Practice in full compliance with the applicable State Practice Act and all laws governing the scope of practice for Physical Therapist Assistants under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.Review and adhere to the company's Clinical Operations Policies & Procedures Manual annually.Complete all required Medicare compliance training in accordance with federal regulations and company policy.Complete annual Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) training and strictly follow all safety standards and infection control protocols.Prepare and maintain clean, safe, and organized treatment areas and equipment in compliance with OSHA guidelines.Accurately implement skilled treatment interventions and therapeutic exercises as prescribed by the supervising Physical Therapist.Effectively communicate patient progress, concerns, and responses to treatment with the supervising therapist through clear verbal and written reports.Document patient treatment sessions using appropriate medical terminology, in a clear, concise, and timely manner to meet facility, physician, and payer requirements.Complete all daily notes, charge tickets, and other required documentation legibly, accurately, and within established deadlines.Maintain open, professional, and respectful communication with patients, families, caregivers, physicians, co-workers, and third-party payers at all times.Actively participate in required facility meetings, including utilization review, infection control, quality improvement, and emergency preparedness drills as directed by the Center Manager.Complete sufficient continuing education to meet or exceed state licensure requirements for the designated reporting period.Maintain current CPR certification that meets state licensure standards.Additional Responsibilities:Manage time efficiently to consistently meet or exceed the facility's productivity standards.Participate in the development and delivery of clinical in-services as requested.Stay current with developments in the healthcare industry and issues affecting the practice of physical therapy.Take ownership of specific operational or clinical initiatives as mutually agreed upon with the Center Manager.Perform other duties or special projects as assigned. Physical Requirements:Ability to frequently lift, transfer, and maneuver patients using proper body mechanics and biomechanical techniques; must be capable of safely lifting up to 50 pounds independently.Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach for extended periods throughout the workday.Sufficient visual acuity (near and far) to accurately read documentation, recognize patient needs, and follow written instructions.Adequate speech and hearing to clearly communicate instructions and understand patient responses.Ability to push wheeled equipment (e.g., wheelchairs, walkers, treatment carts) throughout the facility and community settings.Adequate fine motor skills for handling equipment, documentation, and patient care tasks.Capacity to engage in physically demanding activities for extended hours in compliance with state labor lawsRequired Credentials:• Graduation from a physical therapist assistant or physical therapist education program accredited by CAPTE or in the case of a graduate of an international physical therapist assistant program or international physical therapist program from a non-CAPTE accredited program seeking licensure, certification, or registration as a physical therapist assistant, a substantially equivalent education
