DescriptionJob SummaryThe Food Service Worker performs a variety of tasks throughout the kitchen. This position will comply will all cafeteria, food and beverage regulation guidelines outlined in the facility Food Service manual. This position includes duties related to utility, food preparation, assembly tasks, and cafeteria duties. The patients’ demographics range from newborn through children, adolescents, adults and geriatrics. There is minimal access to patient health information.Job QualificationsHigh School diploma or GED preferredPrevious experience in food service desiredExcellent customer service skillsAbility to stand and walk for long periods of timeFollow the compliance and standards required by food/beverage regulations outlined in the facility manualEnsure compliance with all sanitation and safety requirementsEffectively communicate with all staffShift: 40 hrs. per week, (3) 12 hr. shifts and (1) 4 hr. shiftRequirementsEssential Physical RequirementsMust possess full range of body motion to pass basic FIT test for position to include standing, bending, stooping, and sitting for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Stand and walk for most of the day. Must be able to withstand heat and temperature changes while going in and out of refrigerated or freezer areas.Job-Specific StandardsThe level of performance must be measured by Customer Feedback, Documentation and Observation.Follow “Meal Delivery” guidelines outlined in facility manualFollow” Utility” guidelines outlined in facility manualDelivers the tray to the patient in a friendly, helpful, courteous manner, according to the trained script.Fills supplies when neededServes customers, staff and patients with efficiency and in a courteous mannerRecords and files temperature on hot food items for each meal as requiredConsistently ensure items are stocked when neededAlways ensure proper sanitation in areas in accordance with regulationsWhen assigned properly sets up dish machine, checking soap, rinsing solution and filling tanks.Always scrapes trays using disposable gloves, carefully checks trays to ensure that flatware and paper is not sent through disposalEnsure set up for menu items are accurate and stockedEnsure cafeteria tables, chairs and food area is cleanAssist with restocking when neededPromptly report hazard and unclean areasAssist with receipt reconciliation, cash drawer count and correct handling of sales when assignedPerform other duties as assignedReports ToFood Service Supervisor, Director of Food Service
