Job Description Job SummaryThe Public Relations Officer is responsible for managing the Consulate's public image, handling communications with external stakeholders, and supporting diplomatic, cultural, and official engagements. The role ensures effective coordination with government entities, media outlets, and the local community while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.---Key Responsibilities1. Public Relations & CommunicationsServe as the main point of contact for media inquiries and public communicationsDraft official statements, press releases, and announcements in Arabic and EnglishMonitor media coverage and prepare reports for managementMaintain and enhance the Consulate's public image2. Government & Institutional LiaisonCoordinate with U.S. federal, state, and local authoritiesMaintain relationships with diplomatic missions, international organizations, and community leadersAssist in facilitating official approvals, permits, and documentation when required3. Event ManagementPlan and organize official events, receptions, and national celebrationsCoordinate logistics, invitations, and protocol arrangementsEnsure proper representation of the Consulate at external events4. Community EngagementBuild and maintain strong relationships with the Kuwaiti community in New York and surrounding areasAddress inquiries and provide support to citizens when neededPromote cultural and educational initiatives5. Administrative SupportPrepare reports, correspondence, and briefing notes for senior officialsMaintain records of communications, events, and stakeholder interactionsSupport other administrative or diplomatic tasks as assigned---Qualifications & RequirementsBachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Political Science, or related fieldMinimum 2–5 years of experience in public relations, communications, or government affairsFluency in Arabic and English (written and spoken)Strong interpersonal and communication skillsKnowledge of diplomatic protocol is a plusAbility to handle sensitive information with discretion---Skills & CompetenciesExcellent writing and presentation skillsStrong organizational and multitasking abilitiesCultural awareness and diplomacyProblem-solving and adaptabilityProfessional appearance and conduct---Working ConditionsMay require attendance at evening or weekend eventsInteraction with high-level officials and dignitariesFast-paced, multicultural work environment
