Site SupervisorMontecito Family YMCA - Santa Barbara, CA 93108OverviewSalary Range $21.00 - $23.00 Hourly Level Experienced Position Type F/T and P/T Available Job Shift AnyDescriptionBenefits That Benefit YouFree YMCA Family Gym Membership and Program DiscountsEducation Assistance Program Up To $1,500 per yearYMCA Retirement FundPaid Sick LeaveFlexible ScheduleWhat Does a Site Supervisor Do?Assist in planning, supervising, and implementing childcare programs (Before-School, After-School, Summer Camp, and School Break Care) in accordance with guidelines from State of California Community Care Licensing or California Department of Education Expanded Learning Opportunities ProgramsSupervise up to 14 children independently under the guidelines from State of California Community Care Licensing or 20 children in accordance with guidelines from California Department of Education Expanded Learning Opportunities ProgramsIf applicable, supervise an Assistant or Associate Teacher with up to 28 children under the guidelines from the State of California Community Care LicensingProvide quality care and supervision to children (visual, proactive, interactive)Provide a safe environment for all children to thriveGuide behaviors using positive methods, keeping in mind each child's individual needsCarry out activities and lesson plansEnsure the program is delivering Healthy Eating and Physical Activity (HEPA) standardsSet up and cleanup of the program area including vacuuming, sweeping, dusting, trash removal, etcAssist the Program Director in the planning and administration of the programAssist in selecting, training, guiding, evaluating, and employee corrective actions for staffResponsible for maintaining school relationships, including monthly meetings with administrationMeeting attendance, enrollment goals, and maintain financial controls of budgeted expensesMeet program quality expectations as evident on surveys, observations, and auditsEnsure accurate enrollment and attendance procedures are followedOur Commitment to BelongingAt the Channel Islands YMCA, we are committed to building bridges within our communities. We aspire to create spaces, experiences, and a culture where all people belong and feel connected.QualificationsMust be at least 21 years oldHigh School Diploma or equivalent2 years' experience working in a childcare settingComplete required certifications within 60 days of hireComplete all required Branch and Position specific trainings as required within two weeks of hireAbility to obtain Criminal Record ClearanceMaintain a valid California driver's license, active participation in the California DMV Pull Program, an acceptable driving record and approval status as determined by the Channel Islands YMCA and/or its insurance carrierHealth Screening Report and negative TB test required prior to first day of employmentCalifornia Community Care LicensingMust possess a minimum of 12 units of Child Development or related field and 3 units in Administration. A waiver may be submitted to allow for the Administration course to be completed in the first year of employment (or approved Community Care Licensing alternative)California Department of Education Expanded Learning Opportunities ProgramsMust possess 48 college units; orAssociate's Degree; orPass a District-selected assessment demonstrating knowledge of and the ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics
