Ongoing education is provided to all Patient Care Technicians to ensure that all techs perform at the highest level of their certification and scope of practice. During your first year, you will have the opportunity to attend eight days of training off the unit, which provide interactive learning activities to support your personal and professional development.The Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU - Zayed 9 East) at Johns Hopkins is an 18-bed unit with a diverse patient population receiving various types of surgeries in this ICU, including, Abdominal Transplant, Cardiac Surgery patients, GI Surgery, Trauma, Vascular Surgery, Ortho/Neuro Spine procedures and General Surgery. The SICU team is composed of a unit based multi-disciplinary team. Registered Nurses (RNs) in the SICU take great pride in providing high quality post-operative surgical care every day! Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
