Registered Respiratory Therapist

Lungs at Work, a black lung and respiratory disease clinic located in McMurray, PA, is seeking a candidate for the role of Respiratory Therapist. Qualifications: Strong communication skills Registered Respiratory Therapist, required Experience with Pulmonary Function Testing, required Bachelor of Science Degree, a plus NIOSH certification, a plus RPFT, a plus Valid driver’s license. Responsibilities: Perform all pulmonary diagnostic testing (PFT, ABG, Pulse Oximetry, EKG) Develop and implement patient care plans Monitor and carry out patient/family education Follow-up and document patient compliance with treatment plan Assist with routine maintenance, calibration and troubleshooting of diagnostic equipment Perform medical histories Assist with Physician exam clinic days Data entry of testing performed onsite Outreach activities as needed Equipment cleaning, troubleshooting and maintenance Track and provide data needed to maintain QA program Assist with case management Continuing Education Requirements: Annual National Black Lung and Respiratory Disease Clinics Conference Will become familiar with basic insurance and billing information to facilitate billing Attend additional medical conferences when able Travel Requirements: Moderate to high travel to outreach locations. Travel to conferences, typically two per year.
