Position: Maintenance Mechanic (2nd Shift)Location: Huntley, IL (F135)Shift: 2nd ShiftHours: 2:45 PM – 11:00 PMRate: $27.77/Hour plus .50¢ Shift DifferentialSummary DescriptionWith general supervision, the Maintenance Mechanic I is responsible for maintaining and repairing plant equipment, buildings, and grounds to support safe and efficient production operations.What You’ll Be DoingPerform necessary repairs to all production and maintenance equipmentPick up supplies from local vendors using company vehicle when neededPerform preventive maintenance on production and building equipmentMaintain and repair electrical, construction, and plumbing systemsPerform routine maintenance on thermoforming machinesComplete required job tickets in IQMS, including:Opening PM work ordersClosing PM work orders with project notesAdding labor hoursRecording spare parts usedMaintain a clean, safe, and organized work areaPerform additional duties as assignedPhysical and Visual DemandsStanding, walking, climbing, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, reading, writing, and talkingLift and carry up to 50 poundsPush up to 100 pounds / Pull up to 100 poundsWe’d Love to Hear From You IfYou have strong mechanical aptitudeYou have basic electrical knowledge including 480V systemsYou can read mechanical and electrical drawingsYou have good shop math and measuring skillsYou can continuously lift, reach, stand, and walk throughout the dayYou have strong written and verbal communication skillsYou have manual dexterity and agilityYou have basic computer skillsYou have welding abilityExperience PreferredHigh school diploma or equivalent2–5 years of maintenance experiencePlastics and/or thermoforming experience preferredCertifications in machine repair, basic automated electronic systems, or chemical spill response preferredForklift certificationLockout/Tagout certificationNFPA electrical training certificationWelding experienceMachines, Tools, and EquipmentThermoformersHand toolsBasic shop equipmentSnow blower equipmentForkliftsPneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systemsLathe, milling, grinding, and welding equipmentEnvironmental DemandsExposure ToNoiseVibrationHeat and coldChemicalsGreases and lubricantsSkill Level I ExpectationsMaintain accurate spare parts and supply inventorySafely and properly use shop tools, equipment, and forkliftsPerform preventive maintenance on production equipmentWork independentlyManage time and productivity effectivelyFollow strong safety practices and proper PPE usageAccurately charge hours and spare parts to PM work orders in IQMSBenefitsAt TOPPAN Packaging Americas, we offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package designed to support our employees’ overall wellbeing.
