SANITATION TECHNICIAN

Job Description:JOB SUMMARYSanitation Technician will be responsible for meeting and maintaining the food safety standards for Mission Produce Distribution Center. The Sanitation Tech will be responsible for the sanitizing procedures for food contact and nonfood contact surfaces.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESUnderstand and apply appropriate sanitation responsibilities per Mission Produce Food Safety StandardsKeep buildings, grounds and equipment in clean and orderly conditionPerform heavy cleaning duties such as cleaning floors with brooms, scrubber machines, scrapers, mops, squeegees, or compressed airMaintain cleanliness of walls and doors using scrub brushes, scrapers, squeegees, hand towels, and pressure washers.Document and maintain sanitation logsRead and understand chemical labelsCommunicate issues to supervisorsPerform other duties as requiredWORKING CONDITIONSAbility to work in temperature-controlled environment from 34F 42FAbility to work in a wet cold environmentSafely work near moving mechanical parts and equipmentAbility and willingness to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch/bend as needed to perform essential tasksSkills/Experience:MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTSHigh School Diploma or 2 years of relevant experienceAbility to be flexible with hoursEffective interpersonal communication skillsExperienced in Microsoft OfficeBilingual in English and Spanish (Preferred)Forklift / Scissor Lift experience (Preferred)
