Position Type:Special Education/School PsychologistDate Posted:2/6/2025Location:All SchoolsDate Available:08/01/2025Closing Date:Until FilledSchool Psychologist-Part-TimeThis position is open for a fully certified school psychologist with a minimum of a Masters Degree in School Psychology; however, Specialist or Doctoral level training is preferred; One year or more of experience beyond the Internship preferred.The applicant must possess a valid GA PSC Teacher/Service Certificate in School Psychology P-12.Must have extensive knowledge regarding test administration and interpretation, child and adolescent development, learning, Response to Intervention (RtI), Positive Behavioral Supports, Consultation, etc.Job Goal:To help children and youth succeed academically, socially, behaviorally, and emotionally by collaborating with educators, parents, and other professionals, and by evaluating and interpreting the needs of struggling learners.Performance Duties & Responsibilities:1. Identify and address learning and behavior problems that interfere with school success.2. Evaluate eligibility for special education services (within a multidisciplinary team).3. Administer appropriate individual psychological tests, interpret results, and communicate results to school personnel and parents.4. Maintain current and appropriate testing material and equipment.5. Providing counseling and mentoring to students struggling with social, emotional, and behavioral problems as needed.6. Make appropriate referrals for case requiring the diagnostic or therapeutic services of specialists.7. Collaborate with general education and special education teams to design and implement interventions (academic and behavioral) and determine appropriate progress monitoring tools.8. Establish and maintain close contact with school personnel and community agencies to help provide useful information concerning all referred students.9. Maintain confidentiality of students and students records.10. Attend staff, professional, and interagency meetings.11.
