OverviewSchedule & LocationSchedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. (Onsite)Location: North Medical Office BuildingRole OverviewThis role facilitates patient flow from point of entry to destination in a timely, accurate, and professional manner. The position is responsible for obtaining and documenting accurate demographic, insurance, and financial information to support optimal reimbursement and clinical outcomes. Responsibilities include patient scheduling, front-desk operations, insurance processing, and collaboration with clinical and administrative teams.Benchmarks for SuccessWithin 3 Months:Check in and check out patientsDistribute RightFax documentsDisburse patient letters through the patient portalAnswer the majority of pool messagesSchedule patient appointmentsUtilize LOMA to confirm appointmentsWithin 6 Months:Independently manage all scheduling needsHandle pool messages efficientlySchedule patients at any locationWithin 12 Months:Demonstrate confidence with insurance processingAccurately document information in the patient chartKey ResponsibilitiesPatient interaction, check-in, and check-outInsurance loading and verificationManaging pool messages and patient lettersScheduling appointmentsCollaborating with multiple departments, providers, nurses, and medical assistantsAnswering incoming calls and directing patients and visitors appropriatelyCollecting payments and validating charges in appropriate systemsSkills for SuccessPatient-focused with strong customer service skillsAbility to establish rapport and trust with patientsCalm under pressure with strong de-escalation skillsExcellent attention to detail and time managementQuick learner with the ability to multitaskTeam-oriented with a strong work ethic and initiativeOnboarding & TrainingTraining with a Registration Specialist mentor for the majority of onboardingApproximately one month of shadowingInsurance-specific training providedRequired QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED requiredPreferred QualificationsRelevant experience in a healthcare settingAbility to learn and retain medical coding (ICD-10, CPT preferred)Understanding of insurance information and medical terminologyKnowledge of clinical practices preferredBasic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)We are an equal opportunity employer.
