If you're passionate about innovation, problem-solving, and making a real-world impact, we want to hear from you!About The RoleWe’re seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern this summer/fall to support our design and manufacturing teams in building and testing robotic systems. This internship is ideal for students or recent graduates in engineering who want a fast-paced role with engineering design ownership and responsibilities. You will design, prototype, test, and release individual machine components and full mechanical systems. You will also gain hands-on experience with hardware assembly, integration, and testing in a fast-paced startup environment. You'll work directly with experienced engineers and technicians and play a key role in the prototyping and validation of robotic components.Job ResponsibilitiesSystem and part level design for an autonomous unloader robotAssemble and test industrial electro-mechanical systemsPrototype mechanical solutions to dynamic problems, fabricating parts as needed (e.g. machining, sheet metal, 3D printing)Create system tests for verification of design/manufacturingTroubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues on production robotsParticipate in design feedback sessions and contribute to process improvementsQualifications/RequirementsRequired:Actively pursuing or recently completed a BS in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related fieldCAD experience of complex parts & assemblies (Solidworks preferred)Have designed and fabricated multi-disciplinary projects outside of classMachine shop experience (mill, lathe, laser cutter, shop tools)Strong communication and problem-solving skillsAbility to work at Contoro’s office location in Austin, TXPreferred:FEA experience with Solidworks, ANSYS, or AbaqusExposure to basic programming (Python, C++) or ROSPrevious internship or co-op in a design role and/or a strong role in a student project teamWhat You’ll GainReal-world experience designing, building, and testing mechanical systems from the ground upMentorship from a team of experienced engineers and roboticistsExposure to the full product lifecycle in a high-growth startupA collaborative, mission-driven culture where your ideas and contributions matterHealth, dental and vision beneftisFree Office snacksFlexible work hoursPet friendly officePing pong and entertainment areaContinuous education programHeath and wellness reimbursement program
