IIC Mental Health Therapist
Role Overview
The Licensed Intensive In-Home & Community Therapist provides culturally responsive, strengths-based mental health services to individuals and families experiencing emotional, behavioral, or situational challenges. Services support adults, adolescents, and children diagnosed with mental health and/or substance-related conditions.
This role delivers Intensive In-Home (IIC) therapeutic services designed to address clinical needs connected to the client’s diagnosis. Interventions are structured, short-term, and goal-driven, incorporating psychoeducational strategies aimed at reducing symptoms, improving functioning, and strengthening family systems.
Services are provided primarily within the client’s home and community settings and utilize a range of therapeutic approaches tailored to individual and family needs.
Core Responsibilities
Conduct intake screenings and comprehensive behavioral health assessments to determine appropriate levels of care.
Review assessment outcomes with clients and, when applicable, family members or caregivers.
Partner with clients and families to develop individualized treatment plans with measurable goals and interventions.
Deliver individual, family, and group therapy services using evidence-informed practices.
Provide care coordination and case management to connect clients with community resources, services, and benefits.
Evaluate treatment effectiveness and reassess client progress at required intervals.
Required Experience & Skills
Minimum of three (3) years of experience providing mental health services.
Demonstrated understanding of mental health service delivery systems.
Strong clinical judgment and effective decision-making skills in treatment settings.
Ability to engage clients and families in collaborative, goal-oriented care.
Education & Licensure
Master’s degree in a behavioral health discipline such as Social Work, Psychology, or Counseling.
Active New Jersey license required (LCSW, LPC, LMFT, LSW, or LAC).
Work Environment
Services are delivered in community-based and in-home settings as part of a multidisciplinary treatment team focused on high-quality, client-centered care.
