You will contribute across the full software development lifecycle-from design and development through testing, deployment, and production support-ensuring solutions meet rigorous standards for reliability, scalability, data integrity, security, and maintainability.You will work closely with senior engineers, architects, and business partners to solve complex problems, modernize application components, and continuously improve how teams design, build, and operate software.Your Primary ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, test, and maintain backend applications in alignment with functional and non – functional requirementsBuild high – quality, maintainable Java code following established design and coding standardsDevelop and execute unit and integration tests to ensure application correctness, performance, and reliabilityContribute to the design and implementation of application components and servicesParticipate in code reviews and technical design discussions, helping to drive engineering best practices and continuous improvementCreate and maintain clear system and technical documentationPartner with subject matter experts, architects, and peers to review and refine technical designs and specificationsApply appropriate software development methodologies (Agile, iterative, or waterfall) based on project needsSupport CI/CD practices, including automated builds, testing, and deploymentsProvide production support as needed, including troubleshooting, performance tuning, and issue resolutionEmbed risk and control considerations into day – to – day development activities, escalating concerns as appropriateQualificationsMinimum 4 -6 years of related experience.Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent professional experienceTalent Needed for SuccessHands – on experience developing and supporting backend Java applications in an enterprise environmentStrong Java development experience using Core Java / Java EE and the Spring ecosystem (Spring Boot, Spring MVC), including RESTful API developmentExperience building or supporting microservices or layered architectures (e.g., SOA, MVC), including integration with existing or legacy systemsSolid experience with relational databases and SQL; experience with Oracle and PL/SQL is preferredFamiliarity with CI/CD practices and source control, using tools such as Git or Bitbucket, Maven, and JenkinsExperience writing and maintaining unit and integration tests using frameworks such as JUnit and MockitoExperience working in Agile delivery environments (Scrum or Kanban) and using tools such as JiraBasic understanding of application security concepts, including authentication and authorization (e.g., OAuth, JWT)Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across engineering and business teamsPreferred SkillsExperience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and KubernetesExperience with messaging or integration technologies such as MQ or KafkaExposure to web technologies including JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, and JSONExperience working with SOAP services in addition to REST APIsFamiliarity with code quality, security, and scanning tools (e.g., SonarQube, Fortify, Veracode)Experience with UI or end – to – end testing frameworks such as Cucumber, Selenium, Jasmine, or KarmaExperience improving monitoring, troubleshooting, and production support practicesDemonstrated commitment to continuous learning and staying current with backend engineering best practicesAbility to resolve technical disagreements constructively and contribute to a transparent, collaborative team cultureThe salary range is indicative for roles at the same level within DTCC across all US locations.
