The Director of Facilities will play a critical role in maintaining a safe and supportive environment for patients, visitors, physicians, and staff.The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership abilities, healthcare facilities management expertise, and extensive knowledge of hospital operations, regulatory compliance, preventive maintenance programs, and facility infrastructure systems.This & Operations ManagementLead and manage approximately 45 Full-Time Employees (FTEs) across:Plant OperationsMaintenanceEnvironmental Services (EVS)Grounds OperationsUtilities ManagementProvide strategic direction and operational oversight for all facility-related functionsDevelop departmental goals, operational strategies, and performance improvement initiativesPromote a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and operational excellenceMentor, train, and evaluate departmental staff and supervisorsFacility & Plant OperationsOversee daily operations of hospital facilities and infrastructure systemsEnsure uninterrupted operation of:HVAC systemsBoiler systemsElectrical systemsPlumbing systemsMechanical systemsEmergency power systemsWater and utility systemsManage facility maintenance schedules and preventive maintenance programsCoordinate repairs, inspections, and equipment servicing activitiesEnsure hospital infrastructure supports continuous patient care operationsRegulatory Compliance & SafetyEnsure compliance with all applicable regulations and standards including:NFPA (National Fire Protection Association)OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration)EPA (Environmental Protection Agency)CMS (Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services)Joint Commission StandardsState and local regulatory requirementsLead Life Safety and Environment of Care compliance initiativesMaintain readiness for accreditation surveys and inspectionsOversee biohazard waste management and environmental safety programsDevelop and implement emergency preparedness and disaster response plansEnvironmental Services & Grounds ManagementOversee Environmental Services (EVS) operations to maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary healthcare environmentEnsure proper infection prevention and environmental cleaning protocols are followedManage grounds operations and facility appearance standardsCoordinate snow removal, landscaping, waste disposal, and exterior maintenance activitiesProject & Vendor ManagementSupervise facility-related construction, renovation, and improvement projectsManage contractor relationships and vendor performanceReview project budgets, timelines, and operational impactCoordinate procurement of maintenance equipment and facility suppliesMonitor capital improvement projects and maintenance expendituresCollaboration & financial performanceRequired QualificationsEducationBachelor's Degree required in one of the following areas:EngineeringConstruction ManagementArchitectureBusiness AdministrationFacilities ManagementRelated fieldEquivalent leadership experience may be considered based on qualifications.ExperienceMinimum 5+ years of leadership or management experience requiredPrevious healthcare or
