If you have the heart to serve, we encourage you to explore career opportunities with the BCIU!Summary of position:Support and assist the Program Administrator and all Transportation staff in the execution of their responsibilities by efficiently and competently fulfilling designated responsibilities in the support and furtherance of the Transportation program.Job Responsibilities (see attached job description for additional details):Maintain the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation CDL Third Party Testing Program through the operations surrounding the Commercial Skills Test Information Management System, CDL test scheduling, test invoicing, test payment receiving, and receiving and uploading results.Communicate with Transportation staff concerning leaves of absence, Family Medical Leave Act, Workers' Compensation, and other forms and documentation to be submitted to the Office of Human Resources.Maintain compliance with drug and alcohol testing schedule requirements. Provide documentation for all Transportation employees including scheduling of drug and alcohol test appointments, receiving and filing results.Coordinate communication between Transportation staff, panel doctors, and Occupational Health Services (OHS) provider.Provide BCIUnify and CSIU Financial Information System support for Transportation staff.Schedule administrator meetings and make room reservations.Manage office supply ordering for the Route 61 and the Reading Crest offices.Initiate purchase orders through CSIU.Maintain compliance with applicable physical examination laws and internal policies for all Transportation employees including all employee files.Schedule and receive documentation for all panel doctor physical examination testing.Troubleshoot credentialing issues with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation and/or OHS provider.Process petty cash requests.Conduct the Transportation orientation program.Prepare all Transportation-initiated Employment Status Forms.Create and prepare all documentation and listings for Opening Day Ceremonies.Assist with coordination of Opening Day.Fulfill standard supply requests of all Transportation employees as needed.Contribute to Transportation Office team effort by assisting with assignments as directed by Program Administrator, Assistant Program Administrator, or designee, including performing, as necessary, relief or back-up duties as Transportation Office secretary, driver, Transportation assistant, or dispatcher, as well as all other job-related duties assigned.Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent required, with at least three (3) years of experience working in an office setting required.High degree of competence in all phases of clerical skills and techniques.Proficiency in computer applications skills.Ability to operate various pieces of office equipment.Ability to understand the need for and maintain confidentiality.Current, valid Red Cross First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.Possess or obtain, within six months, valid Pennsylvania Class B Commercial Driver's License ("CDL") with school bus and passenger endorsements.Knowledge of Pennsylvania school bus/van rules and regulations as promulgated by local, state, and federal authorities.Ability to operate any vehicle in the BCIU fleet.Knowledge of Berks County geography and working with students with special needs.Ability to work independently without direct supervision.Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.Ability to handle multiple tasks/projects concurrently and to organize and prioritize work to meet all deadlines.Ability to effectively interact with co-workers, clients, and the public.Schedule:8 hours/day, 12 months/yearSalary:$18.34/hourAttachment(s):TRANS Secretary - Level VI - Transportation - 06062024.doc
