This position is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in agricultural sciences while fostering leadership, career readiness, and hands-on learning experiences for students in grades 9-12.The ideal candidate will inspire students through engaging, real-world applications of agriculture, integrate classroom and laboratory instruction, and support student involvement in FFA and supervised agricultural experiences (SAEs).Key ResponsibilitiesPlan and deliver standards-based instruction in agricultural education courses aligned with agriculture education standardsDevelop and manage a comprehensive agricultural education program including classroom/lab instruction, FFA chapter advising, and SAE supervisionServe as an advisor for the local FFA chapter, including organizing meetings, leadership development, competitions, and community service activitiesSupervise and evaluate student Supervised Agricultural Experiences (SAEs)Maintain and manage agricultural facilities such as the classroom and shop spaceMaintain and manage our agricultural education/FFA ranch which includes 12 cow/calf pairsIntegrate employability skills, career exploration, and industry partnerships into instructionCollaborate with colleagues, administration, and community stakeholders to support student success and program growthMaintain accurate records for student progress, program compliance, and CTE reporting requirementsEnsure a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment for all studentsParticipate in professional development and stay current with industry trends and CTE best practicesAttend Fair Board Meeting as the FFA AdvisorBe present at and help organize the County Fair in JulyQualificationsBachelor's degree in Agricultural Education, Agriculture, or related fieldValid Colorado teaching license with appropriate endorsement in Agricultural Education or ability to obtainAuthorization to teach Career and Technical Education (CTE) courses in Colorado (or willingness to obtain CTE credential)Knowledge of agricultural industry practices and emerging trendsStrong classroom management and instructional skillsExperience with or willingness to lead FFA and SAE programsExcellent communication, organization, and collaboration skillsCommitment to rural education and community engagementCompensation & BenefitsSalary based on district salary schedule and experience - Salary ScheduleComprehensive benefits package including insurance and retirementOpportunities for professional development and CTE endorsement supportPotential affordable school housing availableApplication Process
