Financial Planning and Analysis Manager
DescriptionThe Manager of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) is responsible for leading the financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analytical functions for Ridgeview. This role provides actionable financial insights to support operational, clinical, and strategic decision-making. The FP&A Manager partners with executive leadership, operational leaders, and clinical departments to improve financial performance, enhance resource utilization, and support the organization's long-term financial sustainability. Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Planning & BudgetingLead the annual operating and capital budget process across the health system. Coordinate budget development with department leaders, providing guidance, tools, and financial modeling support. Develop and maintain multi-year financial forecasts aligned with strategic priorities. Monitor budget assumptions, volume projections, labor planning, and expense trends. Lead the development of enhanced forecasting capabilities including but not limited to rolling forecasting. Financial Analysis & ReportingMaintains the monthly variance analysis reporting process. Support profitability and cost analysis for new programs, services, and strategic initiatives. Leads the preparation of financial analyses, business cases, cost/benefit evaluations, and strategic modeling to support organizational initiatives and capital investments. Partners with the Director of Finance and accounting teams to support monthly financial close processes and performance reviews. Prepares internal management reporting packages, dashboards, and presentations for senior leadership, committees, and departmental meetings. Ensures performance metrics, trends, and variances are explained clearly and supported with actionable insights. Operational & Clinical PartnershipCollaborates with department directors and leadership teams to interpret financial results, evaluate performance variances, and identify opportunities for improvement. Oversee the financial liaison model at Ridgeview that supports leadership Provide data-driven insights on labor productivity, supply utilization, and operational efficiency. Support volume, payer mix, and reimbursement analysis. Collaborate with Revenue Cycle, HR, and Operations to align financial and operational performance. Strategic & Decision SupportDevelop financial models for business cases, capital investments, physician recruitment, and growth initiatives. Develops tools and reporting in coordination with Decision Support that enhance operational and strategic decision making across Ridgeview & Affiliates. Support affiliations, joint ventures, and other strategic opportunities as needed. Perform scenario modeling and sensitivity analysis related to reimbursement changes, regulatory impacts, and market trends. Process Improvement & SystemsImprove budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes for accuracy, efficiency, and transparency. Maintain and enhance financial planning systems, data integrity, and reporting tools. Identify opportunities for automation and standardization. Ensure compliance with organizational policies and financial controls. Leadership & Team ManagementSupervise and develop FP&A analysts or finance staff, including performance management and professional development. Foster a collaborative, service-oriented finance culture. Coordinate timelines and deliverables across the finance team. QualificationsEducationBachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Healthcare Administration, or related field required Master's degree (MBA, MHA, or related) preferred ExperienceMinimum 5-7 years of progressive financial analysis or accounting experience At least 2-3 years of experience in healthcare finance strongly preferred Prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred Experience in a hospital, health system, or multi-entity healthcare environment highly desirable Knowledge & SkillsStrong understanding of healthcare financial operations, including reimbursement, cost structures, and volume drivers Advanced financial modeling and analytical skills Proficiency in financial systems and tools (e.g., ERP, budgeting software, Excel) Knowledge of hospital financial statements, productivity metrics, and service line analysis Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate financial data for non-financial leaders Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and business judgment CompensationMany factors are taken into consideration when determining compensation such as: the requirements of the position, experience, education, knowledge, and skills along with location and internal equity.
