RWE Americas, LLCTo start as soon as possible, full time, permanentFunctional area: Legal / ComplianceRemuneration: Non-ExemptThe Senior Paralegal & Legal Project Manager will work with the Central region real estate and development teams to ensure energy projects have the site control needed to build, construct, and operate energy projects. This includes real estate document preparation, title review, survey review, project management responsibilities, and other special projects as needed.Role Responsibilities: Draft various site control agreements, including options, leases, easements, amendments, assignments, and related correspondenceEstablish and manage relationships with title companies and timely order titles for early-stage projectsPrepare and maintain title review checklists for projects in early and mid-stages of developmentOrganize, review, and analyze incoming title commitments and related diligence materialsReview ALTA surveys and title commitments to identify title defects and required curative actions based on title review; prepare and coordinate curative documents such as affidavits, SNDAs, letters of no objection, surface waivers, and similar instrumentsAssist real estate attorneys in ensuring projects are de-risked from a site control, title, and survey perspective prior to constructionSupport the structuring, documentation, and administration of site control and other project-level agreements by coordinating inputs, managing drafts, and facilitating execution across internal and external stakeholders, including preparing formal and informal requests for signatory approval in accordance with the Company’s delegation of authority policiesServe as a central point of coordination for legal workstreams on central development projects, ensuring that legal deliverables are tracked, risks are surfaced, and timelines are followed across the central portfolioSupport attorneys in advancing projects towards key milestones by proactively monitoring conditions precedent, approvals, and documentation requirements necessary for project advancement or closing.Attend project meetings to stay current on project status, risks, and milestones as neededWork collaboratively within the real estate legal team, alongside attorneys and real estate specialists, to maintain and improve team processes and proceduresProvide support to real estate attorneys in connection with general project management responsibilities, including management of trackers and deliverables related to general development, project dispositions, prospective investments, real estate closings, etc.Collaborate with, delegate to, and mentor junior paralegals and real estate specialists, reviewing their deliverables for accuracy and completeness.Assist with special projects and process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the real estate legal teamJob Requirements and Experiences: A Bachelor's Degree is requiredA Paralegal Certificate (preferred, but professional experience is more important)A minimum of 5 years of experience working within a real estate team at a law firm or in-house energy development company Ability to effectively manage competing priorities and tight deadlines, regularly communicating status updates to teammates and internal clients to build trust and manage expectationsUtilizes available resources to solve problems, including asking thoughtful questions and engaging the team proactivelyMaintains strong organization and attention to detailDemonstrates ability to navigate office systems, software, and other technology, and shows a willingness to continue learning and adapting to the sameHandles work with professionalism, integrity, and discretionCommunicates effectively with people from different backgrounds, demonstrating empathy and a commitment to fostering positive working relationshipsResponds well to constructive feedback and adapts to changing needsWork Environment:This position is an office-based role. The employee must be able to sit, walk, or stand for long durations of time.Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States. RWE Americas is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of employment visas at this time.Pay range: The annual base salary range for this position in Illinois is $110,000 - $130,000. The listed salary range represents our good faith estimate for this position and represents the range for new hire salaries across all U.S locations.
