We focus on fostering an inclusive community that values diversity and empowers students to achieve their full potential.Position Summary:We are seeking compassionate, dependable, and student-centered Special Education Paraprofessionals to support PreK-12th grade students with exceptional needs. The Special Education Paraprofessional works under the direction of certified Special Education teachers, the Campus Special Populations Coordinator and service providers to implement individualized support strategies, monitor student progress, and promote success in inclusive and/or small group settings.Key Responsibilities:* Support the implementation of students' Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) under teacher guidance* Assist students with academic tasks, accommodations, and modified instruction* Provide behavioral, emotional, and social support aligned with school expectations and student plans* Monitor and assist with transitions between settings (e.g., classroom, cafeteria, specials)* Assist with data collection and progress monitoring related to IEP goals and behavior plans* Support students with physical or personal care needs as required* Help implement assistive technology and other adaptive tools as directed* Collaborate with classroom teachers and specialists to promote inclusion and engagement* Maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical standards for supporting students with disabilities* Participate in professional development and training as assignedQualifications:* High school diploma or GED (required)* Experience working with children with special needs (preferred)* Strong communication and collaboration skills* Ability to follow teacher direction, remain flexible, and respond to student needs* Commitment to equity, inclusion, and student empowermentPreferred Qualifications:* Associate's degree or higher in education or a related field* Experience in Special Education or in a classroom setting* Familiarity with behavior intervention strategies, assistive technology, or inclusive practicesCompensation and Benefits:* Competitive hourly wage based on experience and qualifications* Health and dental insurance options* TRS retirement plan eligibility* Opportunities for professional growth and developmentHow to Apply:Interested candidates should complete the 2026-2027 TXEA Applicant Intake Form and submit the following to hr@txea.org:* A current resume* A brief cover letter describing your experience and interest in supporting Special Education students* Contact information for two professional referencesApplication Deadline: Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until the position is filled.STATEMENT OF NON-DISCRIMINATION: In keeping with our beliefs and goals, no employee or applicant will face discrimination or harassment based on race, color, ancestry, national origin, religion, age, gender, marital/domestic partner status, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability status, or veteran status.
