Description
Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in production and stockroom on 2nd shift.
Responsibilities
Studies schedules, orders, and other records to determine priorities, work assignments, and methods required meeting production schedules on the assigned shift and plant.
Oversees picking, assembly, testing, painting, shipping, and packing activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and quality.
Ensures equipment is working properly.
Works with Production Manager, Materials Manager, Plant Operations Manager, planners, and other plant supervisors to ensure schedules are met or problems are addressed.
Advises management of needs in areas of control.
Issues written and oral instructions.
Studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency of subordinates.
Maintains harmony among workers and resolves grievances.
Prepares composite reports as requested from management.
Adjusts errors and complaints.
Directly Supervise 2nd shift co-workers
Plan, organize and execute co-worker training.
Conduct interviews for hiring new co-workers.
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma AND 2 years of related experience and/or training
Familiar with company products and components
Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from co-workers, customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
Have working knowledge in mechanical assembly, product testing, work instructions and customer requirements.
Knowledge of quality systems in an ISO9001 environment.
Physical Requirements
Ability to be on feet up to 8-12 hours per shift
Use of hands and fingers to perform job function
Ability to stoop, kneel, bend and climb
Ability to lift up to 50lbs
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
