Medical/Public Records Clerk

Milber Makris Plousadis & Seiden, LLP, a full-service civil litigation defense firm and business partner to the insurance industry, is seeking a full-time medical/public records administrative assistant. Candidate will process and obtain outstanding records from various providers and entities, including but not limited to, medical, employment, insurance, and public records. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years prior record retrieval experience and/or prior legal office administrative experience with excellent organizational and follow-up skills. This role is based in our Purchase, New York office and requires four days a week in office and one day remote, following a minimum of six weeks in-office training.Experience Requirements:High school diploma or GED certificateProficiency in Microsoft Office3+ years experience as a medical and public records administrative assistant or in a similar administrative role preferred.Prior record retrieval experience and/or prior legal office administrative experienceExcellent time management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.Attention to detail and strong organizational skills are essential.Use of office equipment such as computers, printers, photocopiers, scanners and fax machines.Primary job duties include but are not limited to the following:Process and obtain records from various providers and entitiesReview records chart to determine outstanding requests for records that need follow upPrepare facsimiles, emails, correspondence, and call providers/entities requesting records not receivedUpdate and maintain records chart and follow up chart as records are receivedCommunicate regarding status of records retrievalData entry in firm's document management systemNavigate websites for processing of medical records through required portalsUpdate records chart tracking incoming and outstanding records and maintaining notesCoordinate with support services, opposing law firms and courtsCalendar management for processing recordsFollow up for outstanding recordsReview and process invoices for payment of recordsSend payment to corresponding providersSave records retrievedPrepare and enter billing entries; andAdditional administrative dutiesMMP&S Benefits Include:Health Insurance, Health Savings Account, Dental options, Vision options, Life Insurance, Long-Term Disability Insurance, Short-Term Disability Options, Flexible Spending Account, 401(k) Plan, AFLAC, Pet Insurance*Salary Commensurate with Experience
