We are proud to support a Fortune 500 global organization recognized for its strong heritage, operational excellence, and commitment to delivering outstanding business solutions.Position Details• Contract Duration: 6 Months • Schedule: Full-time (40 hours/week) • Start Date: ASAP • Work Arrangement: On-site (New York, NY 10018-3102) • Employment Type: W2 Contract • Openings: 1Role Description As a Sewer, Atelier, you will support the creation of high-quality garments by executing concepts, prototypes, trials, and production-ready samples. This role requires advanced sewing expertise, strong garment construction knowledge, and experience creating luxury samples in an Atelier environment.You will collaborate closely with designers and patternmakers to bring creative concepts to life while ensuring the highest standards of craftsmanship, quality, and attention to detail.Key Responsibilities• Construct one-of-a-kind garments based on pattern and/or draping specifications from the Collection Design Team.• Sew prototypes and various garment samples for runway shows, press samples, and preseason sales samples.• Provide expert finishing and tailoring of specialty garments.• Collaborate closely with patternmakers and designers to ensure design intent and quality standards are achieved.• Apply advanced sewing techniques and garment construction knowledge to support the creative process.• Develop innovative solutions to garment construction challenges in alignment with design concepts.• Maintain the highest level of craftsmanship, quality, and attention to detail.• Support multiple projects while meeting critical deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Qualifications• 10+ years of experience in luxury, ready-to-wear, or Atelier environments.• Proven experience as a seamstress, sample maker, or highly skilled sewer.• Strong experience creating samples and prototypes, not primarily alterations.• Strong knowledge of fine fabrics, trims, sewing techniques, and garment construction.• Excellent handwork skills, including hand and machine sewing.• Some patternmaking knowledge preferred.• Courses in patternmaking and garment construction preferred.• Ability to work with luxury and innovative fabrics.• Strong attention to detail with highly developed standards of excellence in garment sewing and fit.Key Competencies• Advanced sewing and garment construction expertise.• Strong craftsmanship and attention to detail.• Creativity and ability to develop innovative construction solutions.• Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced creative environment.• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines under pressure.• Strong collaboration skills when working with designers and patternmakers.Additional Requirements• In-person testing required.• Must be available to work on-site in New York, NY.• Ability to work extended hours when needed.Why Join Us?This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a globally recognized organization while working alongside creative professionals in a collaborative Atelier environment.
