We design, install, and maintain security systems for schools, government agencies, nonprofits, and commercial organizations across the United States.Our team combines expertise in security technology, networking, and infrastructure to deliver reliable solutions that help organizations protect people and property.Position OverviewOculens is seeking a Security Systems Technician to assist with the installation, configuration, and maintenance of modern security systems including surveillance cameras, access control systems, and related infrastructure.This role involves frequent travel to installation sites, where you will work alongside electricians, technicians, and project managers to deploy systems in commercial and institutional environments.The ideal candidate enjoys hands-on technical work, troubleshooting systems, and working in different environments.ResponsibilitiesInstall and configure security systems including cameras and alarmsInstall and configure access control systems, card readers, and door hardwareRun and terminate low-voltage and structured cablingMount cameras, security devices, and related equipmentAssist with system setup, testing, and troubleshootingConfigure basic networking for security devicesEnsure installations meet company standards and project specificationsWork with electricians and project managers during deploymentsDocument installations and assist with system handoff to clientsTravel frequently to project sites, sometimes for multi-day installationsRequirements1+ years of experience in security systems, low-voltage installation, or IT infrastructureExperience installing or servicing cameras, access control, or alarm systemsFamiliarity with low-voltage wiring and cable terminationBasic understanding of networking (IP addresses, switches, routers)Ability to work on ladders, lifts, and active job sitesStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsMust be willing and able to travel frequentlyValid driver's licensePreferred QualificationsExperience with access control platforms - including installation and programmingExperience with IP-based camera systemsExperience installing Verkada devicesLow-voltage certification or technical trainingExperience working on commercial or institutional installationsOSHA 10/30Lift certification Experience with bending and installing conduitBasic project management experienceWhat We OfferCompetitive salary based on experienceTravel expenses covered when on projectsTraining and certifications in modern security technologyOpportunities for career growth and upward mobility as the company growsCollaborative team environment working with cutting-edge systemsHealth Insurance
