Apply today!Position SummaryThe Support Techs will provide necessary leadership to ensure a safe and efficient work cell, and will work towards the ongoing development and continued training of our Die Cast Operators. The Support Techs are responsible for safely setting up production dies and all ancillary equipment for auto/manual die cast machines.Essential FunctionsMaintain a safe and orderly work area. Ensuring all safety guarding and other safety devices are properly installed, in working order and consistently utilized.Set up includes all cell equipment necessary to support production.Follow and understand all work instructions and the ability to complete all paperwork within their area of responsibility. Paperwork could include; count accuracy, count boards, process check sheets, audits, quality check sheets, TPM and other paperwork as assigned, or defined.Process castings / parts to ensure that they are being produced handled and moved onto next operation, following all established guidelines, procedures and part specifications.Operate and make adjustments to Die Cast Machine(s) and its related equipment, such as; Auto Ladles, Auto Reciprocators, ABB Robot and Trim Presses to produce quality castings, on time to meet production schedules.Inspect and gage castings as outlined in work instructions, to ensure that the product meets, or exceeds all dimensional and visual characteristics as defined.Train and provide knowledge, or best practices to MKC employees, or temporary or new hired employees. This would include proper operation and use of all equipment and processes that are necessary to support production.Pro-actively provide support, analysis and troubleshooting skills to co-workers and other areas that are experiencing difficulty, high workload, and quality and or productivity issues.Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment. Performs other related duties and assignments as required. WORKING CONDITIONSHeavy manufacturing environment with exposure to high levels of noise, heat, and moving operations. Working overtime during the week and weekends can be expected.PHYSICAL DEMANDSWhile performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to stand for long periods of time and move about the production facility. The employee is often required to lift, carry, push and pull up to 40 pounds. The employee is occasionally required to bend, reach, and stoop. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision for quality inspection.QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent. Basic reading and math skills required. Ability to read, write, and communicate in comprehensive English. Electrical, mechanical, problem solving, and computer skills preferred. Must be able to pass the MKC forklift and crane certification. Demonstrate group participation in a self-starting, self-motivated, self-directed work team.
