Devon Ave | Des Plaines , IL 60018Free Parking / Free Shuttle from the Rosemont Blue Line StationEssential Job Functions:Grill Cook:Sets up and breaks down station as per production sheetGrills and Sauté's foods such as Steaks, Seafood, Chicken, Pork, and Pastas. Creates pan sauces & seasonal vegetables.Receives, communicates and organizes all tickets with team members ensuring proper timing of food execution.Ability to quickly comprehend, communicate and execute detailed instructions in a high volume kitchen.Keeps an open line of communication with the expediter to ensure food is prepared & served with accuracy.Cooks the exact number of items ordered by each customer, working on several different orders simultaneouslyGrills and garnishes hamburgers and/or other items such as salads and sandwiches to the guest's specificationsRestocks station and meets or exceeds assigned prep lists on a daily basis maintaining a high level of teamworkOccasional Line Cook, and Production Cook responsibilities as assignedAll Cooks, Including Grill Cook:Maintains a high degree of sanitation in work stationKeeps food area free of debris and trash at all timesReports to work on timeCommunicates with Sous Chef when there are product shortagesBreaks down and stores daily food and supply deliveriesAssists in monitoring products in the freezer, walk-ins, and storerooms to ensure freshness and availabilityEnsures proper FIFO procedures are followed when storing daily deliveriesMonitors food items, checks food temperatures, and changes food items when necessaryAssists in quality control of prepared food itemsEnsures thorough communication between shiftsRemains up to date on all Departmental Policies and ProceduresPrepares and executes recipes and daily production sheets per standardized recipe cards or supervisor guidelinesComplies with all departmental rules, side work assignments, and departmental proceduresEnsures that all guests are treated in a prompt, professional and courteous mannerGives excellent internal and/or external guest service and proactively seeks ways to improve servicePerforms all other duties as assignedJob Requirements:Grill Cook:* Must possess basic knife skills, organizational skills, an understanding of meat temperatures and quickly cooking to specifications while keeping errors to a minimumAll Cooks, Including Grill Cook:Illinois Food Handler Certification requiredMust possess outstanding interpersonal communication skills to effectively interface with guests and team membersMust possess the ability to work under pressure and with a sense of urgencyMust possess a cooperative, helpful and friendly nature, and present a neat, clean, well-groomed appearanceAbility to work flexible shifts and days of the week including holidays.
