Job TitleLow Voltage / AV / Security Technician (Entry Level)Job DescriptionThe Low Voltage / AV / Security Technician supports the installation, testing, and maintenance of low-voltage systems including audiovisual (AV), CATV, and basic security infrastructure. This role involves hands-on field work, equipment handling, cable termination and testing, and close coordination with project teams to ensure high-quality installations that meet safety and performance standards.This is an entry-level opportunity for technicians looking to grow their skills in structured cabling, AV systems, and security technology while working in a team-oriented environment.Key ResponsibilitiesLow Voltage / AV / Security InstallationInstall, route, and support low-voltage cabling for AV, CATV, and security systemsAssist with device installation such as cameras, speakers, displays, and access control componentsPerform basic cable termination and testing to validate system functionalityHandle cables and components carefully to prevent damage during installationJob Site OperationsWork alongside lead technicians and project teams to complete installations efficientlyMaintain an organized jobsite, including proper tool usage, material staging, and cleanupFollow installation plans and direction while communicating issues or obstacles proactivelySupport troubleshooting efforts when system or cabling issues ariseSafety & ComplianceFollow OSHA and company safety protocols at all timesProperly use PPE including gloves, eye protection, and appropriate footwearSafely work on ladders and in active construction or retrofit environmentsAssist with setting up safe work zones when requiredWhat We Look For (Why Techs Succeed Here)Reliable attendance and punctualityProfessional attitude and strong work ethicAbility to stay focused and productive on the jobsiteTeam players who contribute positively to crew progressRequired SkillsAudio Visual (AV) systems exposureCATV or low-voltage cabling experienceCable termination and basic testingOSHA-10 (preferred or willing to obtain)Top SkillsAudio VisualCATVTermination & TestingAdditional QualificationsMust be able to climb an 8-10 ft ladder safelyMust have reliable transportation to travel to job sitesMust have a credit card for job-related expenses (reimbursed per company guidelines)Experience LevelEntry LevelJob Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Durham, NC.Pay And BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $16.00 - $22.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
