This leader will drive integration across marketing functions for a portfolio of high-profile healthcare clients, with a focus on delivering best-in-class social, digital, and influencer strategies within a highly regulated environment.This role requires a seasoned strategist who can operate at the intersection of innovation and compliance – bringing forward-thinking, culturally relevant ideas while navigating the nuances of healthcare, regulatory considerations, and risk mitigation. The Senior Vice President will serve as a trusted advisor to senior clients and internal stakeholders, shaping strategies that not only meet business objectives but also elevate the role of social and influencer engagement in driving meaningful impact.The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in social and digital ecosystems, a sophisticated understanding of influencer strategy (including patient and HCP engagement), and a proven ability to lead team members as well as partner with CX and specialists to support integration across large businesses. This individual will be equally comfortable in executive-level client counsel, team leadership, and hands-on strategic development.ResponsibilitiesServe as a senior strategic lead and trusted advisor across key client relationships, providing high-level counsel on social, digital, and influencer strategies within a regulated healthcare landscapeGuide clients and internal teams through the complexities of digital/social initiatives in healthcare communications, balancing innovation with compliance, and proactively identifying risks and opportunitiesLead the development of integrated, insight-driven social and influencer strategies that align with broader brand and business objectivesOversee the end-to-end execution of large-scale, multi-channel programs – from strategic planning through implementation and measurement – ensuring excellence at every stageDrive the evolution of influencer strategy, including patient, caregiver, and HCP engagement, with oversight of identification, vetting, contracting, content development, and performance evaluationShape and refine strategic narratives through compelling briefs, presentations, and storytelling that resonate with both clients and cross-functional partnersPartner closely with cross-functional teams (CX, earned, paid, creative, analytics, sci comms) to ensure seamless integration and executionAct as a senior escalation point, navigating complex client dynamics and ensuring alignment across stakeholdersLead, mentor, and inspire team members – while fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous growthPartner with CX Lead to oversee financial management, including scope development, resource allocation of digital/social initiatives, and ensure programs are delivered on time and within budgetChampion innovation by staying ahead of emerging platforms, technologies, and cultural trends, translating these into actionable opportunities for clientsContribute to new business efforts, including pitch development and thought leadership, helping to grow the healthcare social and influencer offeringQualifications12–15+ years of experience in digital, social media, and/or digital PR, with significant healthcare experience strongly preferredDemonstrated expertise providing senior-level strategic counsel to clients, including navigating complex, highly regulated environmentsDeep understanding of social media ecosystems, influencer strategy, and the evolving digital landscape, with a strong point of view on where the industry is headingProven ability to lead large, integrated teams and manage complex programs with multiple workstreamsStrong experience with patient and HCP influencer engagement, including an understanding of compliance considerations and best practicesExceptional communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to translate complex ideas into clear, compelling narrativesExperience collaborating across disciplines, including media, creative, analytics, and medical/legal/regulatory teamsStrong business acumen, including experience managing scopes of work, budgets, and resource planningAbility to synthesize data and insights into actionable recommendations that drive strategy and performanceDemonstrated ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities while maintaining a high standard of excellenceA collaborative, solutions-oriented mindset with a passion for pushing boundaries and redefining what’s possible in healthcare communicationsSome travel is expected.Salary range: $180,000 USD - $245,000 USD Where an employee or prospective employee is paid within this range will depend on, among other factors, actual ranges for current/former employees in the subject position; market considerations; budgetary considerations; tenure and standing with the company (applicable to current employees); as well as the employee’s/applicant’s background, pertinent experience, and qualifications.Weber Shandwick is proud to be an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
