Senior Public Works Estimator

We are seeking a strategic Senior Public Works Estimator to join our Dublin team- a detail-oriented professional who thrives on precision, collaboration and delivering impactful results. Success in this role requires the ability to develop accurate, competitive cost estimates while collaborating closely with internal teams, subcontractors and suppliers. This role offers the opportunity to influence project outcomes, support bid strategies and contribute to the successful delivery of a diverse portfolio of infrastructure projects.ResponsibilitiesEstimating & Cost AnalysisReview specifications, drawings, and project site conditions to develop accurate estimatesAnalyze and build estimate data related to labor, materials, equipment, location and other cost factorsApply mathematical calculations to ensure accuracy of estimated costs. Utilize historical cost data as a benchmarking toolReview quantity take-offs to verify accuracy of estimate inputsBid Strategy & Competitive AnalysisAnalyze alternative construction methods and approaches to improve bid competitivenessEvaluate projects risks and develop strategies to mitigate potential construction challenges. Vendor & Subcontract CoordinationCommunicate with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain pricing and scope detailsInternal Collaboration & ReportingPresent estimate/proposal to management for review and validation. Communicate bid information and project scope to field operations during pre-construction meetingsRequirementsPreferred QualificationsBachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or equivalent related work experience8 years of public estimating experiencePrior experieince as a Project Manager/Engineer and/or take-off, is a plusAbility to manage and produce multiple estimates concurrently. Proficiency in HCSS HeavyBid, Primavera Scheduling software and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Working knowledge of Caltrans and FAA construction methods and principlesStrong verbal and written communication skills.
