As the Head Housekeeper for our Residence building in San Rafael, CA you’ll lead a dedicated team in providing high-quality housekeeping and janitorial services that support our clients, staff, and volunteers. With a focus on maintaining cleanliness, safety standards, and excellent communication, you’ll play an important role in creating a comfortable environment for all. This is a full-time position with a set schedule from Sunday through Thursday, 6 a.m.-2:30 p.m.What you’ll do:Oversee and participate in all housekeeping and janitorial activities for the Residence buildingMaintain cleanliness standards and coordinate scheduled services, inspections, and room turnoversSupervise and train housekeeping staff, including performance management and team meetingsManage inventory of linens and supplies, place orders, and track usageSupport food service operations by assisting with meal preparation, service, and dishwashingWhat you’ll love:A leadership role where your contributions keep our campus running smoothlyA consistent schedule that allows for work-life balance and a supportive environmentOpportunities to collaborate with staff across departments, including kitchen and residential teamsBeing part of an organization that values your skills and your service to othersThe qualifications you’ll need:High school diploma or equivalent preferred; at least 3 years of housekeeping experience, including staff supervisionFood preparation experience preferred; ServSafe certification or ability to obtain within 3 monthsAbility to lift up to 40 lbs., work with cleaning equipment, and stand for extended periodsStrong written and verbal communication skills (including email and voicemail) with high professional standardsReliable, self-directed, and comfortable working with individuals with disabilities and service dogsGuide Dogs for the BlindAt Guide Dogs for the Blind (GDB), we believe that everyone deserves to move through the world safely and confidently - to live the life they want to live.
