This high-impact leadership role oversees daily operations, ensures compliance with hospital and regulatory standards, drives staff development, and maintains high-quality patient care.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide leadership, direction, and oversight of the MSUSupervise, mentor, and develop nursing staffManage staffing schedules, productivity, and workflowEnsure compliance with Joint Commission, CMS, and hospital standardsSupport hiring, onboarding, evaluations, and retention of staffFacilitate staff education, competency assessments, and professional developmentParticipate in inpatient nursing leadership on-call rotationOccasionally provide direct patient care to maintain clinical skillsTrack and improve nurse-sensitive quality metricsCollaborate with other nurse leaders and departments to optimize unit performanceQualificationsActive Colorado RN LicenseBSN required; MSN preferredMinimum 3 years of MSU/Med-Surg leadership experienceCurrent BLS and ACLS certifications required; PALS and TNCC/TCAR within 6 months of hireHigh-acuity certification (CCRN, PCCN) preferredStrong leadership, communication, and operational management skillsAdditional InformationThis role directly supervises MSU nursing staffEnsures safe work environment, adherence to legal and hospital standardsParticipation in Pathway to Excellence® initiatives encouragedOpportunity to lead a high-performing, patient-centered team
