Material Handler/Forklift Operator

Job Summary: The Trailer Yard Associate is responsible for safely hooking up, moving, and inspecting trailers within the yard. This role ensures all trailers are properly connected, operational, and meet safety standards before being dispatched. Key Responsibilities: Hook and unhook trailers to yard trucks safely and efficiently Safely unload trailers while maintaining proper weight distribution to prevent shifting or tipping Perform inspections on trailers (lights, tires, brakes, connections) Verify trailer numbers, seals, and documentation for accuracy Identify and report any damage, defects, or maintenance issues Move trailers within the yard to designated locations as needed Ensure proper coupling of air lines and electrical connections Accurately checking quantities, item descriptions and conditions of goods upon arrival Coordinate with warehouse staff to ensure proper staging and storage of received items Maintain a clean, organized and efficient warehouse layout Keep aisles and work areas clear to promote safety and productivity Requirements: Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions Basic knowledge of trailer components and safety checks (preferred) Ability to lift, bend, climb, and perform physical tasks Strong attention to detail and safety awareness Valid driver’s license Job Type: Full-time Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour Experience: Mechanical knowledge: 1 year (Preferred) Work Location: In person
