Apex Rehabilitation and Healthcare - Apex Rehab and care is a 195 Bed long term and short term facility. Part-time cook needed weekends a must.At the present time we are looking for a talented, creative and experienced Cook for FT and PT positions to work in the Food Services area of a very busy and fast paced kitchen within our facility.In this role you will assist with the preparation, seasoning and cooking of meals for Residents as directed by Food Service Director or the sous chef.Schedule includes every other weekend and during the weekAdditional responsibilities include:Helping to prepare food for the next meal service to include chopping, measuring and mixing ingredients according to established recipesEnsure all procedures are conducted following required Health Department and Company regulationsCheck all food temperatures prior to meal serviceGarnish all plates before they leave the kitchen area and have serve safe.The ideal person will have experience in a busy kitchen or food preparation areaMinimum of 2 years experience in food handling and preparation, sanitation and safety standards for institutions and/or restaurantsCulinary or cooking school experience/ courses preferred; minimum of a High School degreeMust be able to operate in a fast paced environmentExcellent ability to prioritize, deliver top notch customer service and multi-tasking in a fast paced environmentAbility to understand the English language and follow instructions with minimal supervisionProven ability to follow all rules, regulations, policies and sanitary standards set out by management
