Rebuild Technician / Shop MechanicSchedule: 10 days on / 4 days off (104)Position OverviewTurner Staffing Group is seeking a Rebuild Technician / Shop Mechanic to support high-volume component rebuild and repair operations. This role is ideal for a mechanically strong technician who thrives in a fast-paced shop environment and takes pride in precision rebuild work. The position focuses heavily on component teardown, inspection, rebuild, and testing, with a strong emphasis on reading schematics and working to tight tolerances.This is a hands-on role supporting fleet and field operations by restoring critical components to service-ready condition.Key ResponsibilitiesRebuild and overhaul mechanical components including:Hydraulic cylindersGearboxes and drivetrainsCylinder heads and related assembliesDisassemble, inspect, measure, and reassemble components to specificationDiagnose component failures and determine repair or rebuild requirementsRead and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, service manuals, and technical documentationPerform precision work using hand tools, presses, measuring tools, and shop equipmentIdentify wear patterns, failure causes, and recommend corrective actionsTest rebuilt components to verify proper function and performanceMaintain accurate rebuild documentation and work ordersWork efficiently in a production-oriented shop with multiple rebuilds in progressFollow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work areaCollaborate with shop leadership and peers to meet turnaround timelinesQualifications & ExperienceStrong mechanical aptitude with hands-on rebuild experienceProven experience rebuilding hydraulic cylinders, heads, gearboxes, or similar componentsStrong ability to read and work from schematics and technical drawingsExperience working in fast-paced shop or production rebuild environmentsFamiliarity with tight tolerances, measurements, and quality control standardsAbility to troubleshoot mechanical failures and identify root causesExperience using precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges, etc.)Welding or fabrication experience is a plus but not requiredSkills & CompetenciesHigh attention to detail and workmanship qualityStrong time-management skills with the ability to prioritize workMechanical problem-solving mindsetAbility to work independently and as part of a teamComfortable working under production deadlinesCommitment to safety and continuous improvementWork Schedule10 days on / 4 days off (104 rotation)Shop-based role with consistent workload
