Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated Electrical Engineer I to join our growing engineering team. This role is ideal for recent graduates or early-career professionals looking to develop hands-on experience in building and industrial electrical system design for pharmaceutical and biotechnology facilities.
The successful candidate will support senior engineers in the design and documentation of electrical systems while gaining exposure to multidisciplinary project environments.
Responsibilities
Assist in the design of electrical systems for industrial and commercial facilities, including power distribution, lighting, and low-voltage systems
Support development of electrical design drawings and specifications, including plans, one-lines, and schedules
Perform basic engineering calculations such as load calculations, voltage drop, and short-circuit analysis under supervision
Work with Revit MEP (preferred) and/or AutoCAD to produce design drawings and models
Coordinate with architectural, mechanical, plumbing, and process engineering teams
Assist in ensuring designs comply with NEC, NFPA, and applicable codes and standards
Support equipment selection for systems such as panels, transformers, generators, UPS systems, and lighting fixtures
Participate in design reviews, client meetings, and occasional site visits
Respond to RFIs and assist with submittal reviews during construction administration
Learn and apply company standards, drafting practices, and project workflows
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering
0–2 years of experience (internship or co-op experience preferred)
Basic knowledge of electrical building systems design principles
Experience with Revit MEP and familiarity with AutoCAD is a plus
Understanding of fundamental engineering principles and willingness to learn industry codes (NEC, NFPA)
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, multidisciplinary environment
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications
Internship or co-op experience in consulting engineering or industrial design
Exposure to pharmaceutical, biotech, or life sciences projects
Familiarity with cleanrooms or regulated environments
EIT certification or interest in pursuing Professional Engineer (PE) licensure
Experience with Microsoft Office and basic engineering software tools
