This role partners closely with Operations and Marketing to drive actionable insights, optimize working capital, and maintain strong internal controls. The ideal candidate is hands-on in a CPG setting, has solid GAAP knowledge, and a track record of leading process improvements. This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Accountant to be on the fast-track to Accounting Manager. Sit, stay, and let the numbers roll in.---The Pack Leader's Duties- Lead the monthly close and financial reporting in accordance with GAAP; ensure accuracy of P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statements. Keep the books on a short leash and on time. 🐾- Management of AR/AP Analysts: - Provide leadership, coaching, and review to AR/AP resources. - Ensure that vendor bills (both PO-backed and non-PO) and customer payments are recorded timely and accurately. - Sniff out account reconciliation issues and drive resolution. 🦮- Inventory governance: - Oversee accuracy of our perpetual inventory and partner with Operations on reconciliation processes. - Create monthly Inventory Adjustments as needed to ensure synchronicity with external reporting - Investigate and resolve inventory differences by barking up the right tree.- Asset management: - Maintain fixed asset register and record depreciation on a monthly basis. Treat assets like beloved bones—carefully tracked. - Perform all prepaid asset accounting and assist with implementing prepaid schedules in NetSuite. - Monthly Accruals and P&L Review: - Manage monthly accruals process and perform variance analysis by vendor/account to ensure completion. - Communicate and discuss monthly spend with Marketing team. - Own freight and trade spend accruals, as well as deduction management.- Compliance and documentation: - Stay current with accounting standards and regulatory requirements; ensure proper documentation for audits. - Maintain SOPs for the team and promote cross-training opportunities when possible.- Internal controls and audit support: - Perform year-end cut-off procedures to ensure accurate financial statement presentation. - Strengthen and document controls; support the annual external audit; and drive general process improvement across the function.- Promote a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement. Lead the pack with a positive bark.- Additional duties as assigned by the Controller or Finance leadership.---Qualifications of a Top Dog- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CPA candidate preferred.- 3+ years of accounting experience, ideally with a CPG company.- Strong GAAP knowledge and experience with month-end close, financial reporting, and internal controls.- Proficiency with NetSuite, advanced Excel skills; experience with Bill.com.- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail; ability to manage multiple priorities.
