By streamlining competing priorities and viewpoints, we aim to increase manufacturing capacity and technology adoption, boost the number of available suppliers and diversify investment into the defense industrial base.Position Summary:The Investment Specialist 5 will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing the strategy for developing investment opportunities, ensuring robust communication with current and prospective commercial and technology partners and key stakeholders especially related to programs across the federal enterprise. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the non-profit and government contracting sectors, exceptional communication skills, and a proven track record in building and maintaining strong investor relationships. We uphold these values upon a backbone of humility driven by a culture of safety, vulnerability, and purpose.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:* Relationship Management:o Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with current and prospective technology companies and key stakeholders.o Experience with engaging across multiple federal departments and agencies.o Organize and lead commercialization and technology briefings, events, and meetings to foster engagement and support.o Capable of serving as the primary point of contact for all potential investment opportunities and commercialization and tech transfer communications, including preparing and delivering presentations, reports, and updates.o Manage and enhance commercialization and tech transfer communication channels to ensure transparency and clarity regarding the organization's performance and impact.* Strategic Planning & Execution:o Develop and implement a comprehensive relations strategy aligned with the organization's goals and mission.o Create, communicate, and execute a strategic plan to engage and grow our commercialization and tech transfer base, including investor groups, all appropriate federal departments and agencies, and other appropriate partners.o Provide expert level due diligence in investment proposal preparation, presentations, and recommendations to leadership.* Reporting & Analysis:o Oversee the preparation and dissemination of regular reports, performance metrics, and impact assessments.o Analyze investor feedback and trends to inform strategic adjustments and enhance partner satisfaction.o Prepare and present relevant and timely information as appropriate and required.* Collaboration & Leadership:o Collaborate with senior leadership, program managers, and development teams to ensure alignment of commercialization and tech transfer relations efforts with organizational priorities.o Provide leadership and mentorship to the development team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment that is innovative and agile.o Connect with relevant networks and resources to build and develop opportunities for future development.* Compliance & Best Practices:o Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, policies, and best practices in commercialization and tech transfer relations and non-profit governance.o Stay informed about industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging best practices in investor relations.* Performs other related duties as assigned.Required Skills/Abilities:Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information in a clear and compelling manner.Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities, with a focus on data-driven decision-making.Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, including government agencies and non-profit entities.High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a focus on mission-aligned goals.Strong ethical standards and integrity.Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.Education, Certifications, and Experience:Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Public Relations, or a related field. Advanced degree (e.g., MBA, MPA) preferred.Minimum of 12 years of experience in investor relations, financial management, or related roles, with at least 5 years in a leadership capacity.Proven investment and/or development experience in the non-profit sector, particularly in a government contracting environment, is highly desirable.Physical Requirements:* Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.* Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.Travel Expectations:* Expected travel: Up to 60%.* Periodic travel to HQ for meetings may be required.Note:BlueForge Alliance provides equal employment opportunities for all employees and applicants for employment.
