Priority maintains a diversified business model providing service to both municipal solid-waste, construction & demolition customers. Job Purpose: In your role as a Territory Manager you will plan, organize, coordinate operations of our refuse drivers and general laborers. You will responsible for providing support Detroit/Hamtramck locations. Regular travel to and from sites as well as our corporate office in Clinton Township is required and a company vehicle is provided. Must have a valid drivers license. Duties include but are not limited to: Plans, organizes, and coordinates operations for a variety of customer accounts and services while overseeing employees Determines head count and hiring needs (based on approval of head of operations) Maintains safety standards Handles employee relations including verbal warnings, coaching conversations, safety concerns, written warnings, hiring and terminations Manages the end-of-day check-in process, capturing and communicating key service, safety, and equipment issues. Assists Residential Supervisor in minimizing overtime to ensure drivers do not exceed limits established by regulatory agencies (e.g., 60 hour rule). Reviews weekly demand / volume for routes, determines potential gains from re-routing, and recommends re-routes as appropriate. Assist with investigations for all injuries and incidents. Visits customers and customer sites to evaluate and resolve safety issues, seeking service alternatives where appropriate. Establishes and maintains a clean, safe work environment in compliance with Company/Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards. Communicates and follows-up on sales opportunities, problems at customer site, DVIR repairs, container swaps, and safety issues reported by drivers. The successful candidate profile includes: Prior waste experience preferred Prior management experience required Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills Must be able to utilize technology and teach others Attention to accuracy and detail required Comprehend verbal and written instructions Meet deadlines regularly Willing to work longer hours as job requires Willing to travel as needed with company vehicle Must have valid license and pass MVR check
