Illinois Tool Works (ITW) is a Fortune 200 Company headquartered in Glenview, IL.The Chemical Mixing Operator will safely and efficiently operate all mixing vessels in the manufacturing facility along with the operation of all the equipment necessary to fill and package the finished product and able to work Tuesday-Friday 6:00AM-4:30 PM.Responsibilities: Other duties as assignedCommunicate with Supervisors and facility leadership regarding safety, production, quality, or any other operational issueFollow & perform Bill of Materials, Batch Sheets, & Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)Understands and efficiently performs all phases of mixing operation, including: offloading talc railcars; adding resin to Meyer, Anco, Kelly Mixers from silos; proper setting of resin meters and proper valve operation; weighs raw materials accurately; adding all ingredients and chemicals, including liquids and powders, both automated and by hand; and accuratelyOperates Meyer, Anco, Kelly and M2M mixersPackage batches in accordance with all safety, quality, and efficiency standards by following SOPs, batch sheets, and verbal directionsSafely and efficiently operate various styles of mixing equipment, packaging equipment, bulk material transfer equipment, scales, flowmeters and other equipment related to the mixing and packaging of chemicalsWear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when requiredUnderstands quality expectations relating to the packaging of our products, including fill weights, appearance of packages, and proper labelingUnderstands the Quality Control functions pertaining to mixed product, including viscosity and weight testingPerform required calibrations or routine maintenance to equipment in accordance with company procedures including changing resin filters and emptying dust collectorsEnsure accurate documentation & inventory accuracy in accordance with established doctrineUse all equipment safely and ensure safe operation of equipment by co-workersMaintain clean work areas in accordance with 5S protocolAssist in modifying or establishing procedures as neededAssist in prevention of quality problems and establishment of solutions for existing issuesEducation and Qualifications:High School diploma or equivalent education required3 years' work experience in a chemical environment preferredForklift operation experience preferredBasic understanding of computersOral and written communication skills and basic mathWillingness to work in a team environmentAbility to adapt to changing demands and to react positively to verbal instructions given by a supervisor or another managerAbility to climb stairs, stand or sit for extended periods of time, and safely lift up to 55 lbs. repetitivelyAbility to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for extended periods of timeCompensation Information: $23.80 - $32.20ITW is an equal opportunity employer.
