Brief DescriptionTitle: Account ManagerDepartment: SalesReports to: Sales ManagerStatus: Salaried ExemptPrimary FunctionThe Account Manager is responsible for growing sales and contact base within their assigned territory by visiting and calling on customers, prospects, and leads in their specialized market. An Account Manager is also responsible for receiving, processing, and recording customer's orders with interaction with Company team members who support the ordering, delivery, and billing process.RequirementsPreferred bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent education and experienceAbility to travel minimum of 5 days a quarterPossesses 3 – 5 years of consultative sales related experienceMust have ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint at a high levelSpeaks confidently and articulately in front of a groupAbility to work independently and as an effective team memberDemonstrate the ability to think both analytically and creativelyPossess strong problem-solving skillsThe ability to communicate confidently, clearly, and effectively in front of groupsInbound/Outbound phone work: Requires ability to continually sit with frequent hand use and finger dexterity. Continuous ability for near/far vision and hearing.Customer Visits, Travel, Trade shows: Frequent standing/walking/lifting and carrying up to 30 lbs. without assistance. Occasional hand use, arm reach; need to kneel/squat. Continuous ability for near/far vision and hearing.SummaryResponsibilities:Schedule outside sales visits and process outbound calls to market product sales; identify needs and opportunities; and find solutions for costumersProspect, lead generations, follow- up, expand territory by growing contracts in other departmentsReceive customers' calls, faxes and emails and provide quotes and/ or information about products & services; processes concerns/ problems; and enter orders using company systemsAttend trade shows and set up booth and markets productsAttend computer and customer process trainingTrain new employees in processing customer accounts as neededOpen accounts for customers by creating new records in databaseTrack the disposition of customer deliveriesCross sell and up-sell to all customersProvide the customers with the opportunity to receive a sample, promotional product or evaluation order and follow- up in a timely manner to close saleTroubleshoot work-related problems by sharing new ideas with other team members and supervisors and take responsibility for and ownership of departmental successRefer customer with estimate shipping costsIntroduce/ discuss out top product lines to every customerWork with all company departments/ teams to facilitate customer solutions: Manufacturing, Resource, Accounting, Returns, etc.Attend new and existing products training and team meetingsMaintain regular and predictable attendanceWork safely to prevent on-the-job injuries by following ergonomic guidelinesActively contribute to maintaining a strong team and spirit and positive work environmentProvides direction and assist the Assistant Account Managers reporting to themHigh activity level in all sales activitiesAttend all required trainingsReliable and organizedActively adds contracts, departments, and accounts to our database by prospectingMentor to other HCL employees
